Now that we have your attention, we meant our coffee and donut Thursday! Since we haven’t been blogging, here is just a quick recap of the going ons at Liberty Hall.
We are happy to announce our exhibit Toys Through Time: The History of American Fun is officially complete and open for public tours. YAY! Out of 607 toys, we used 354!
Here are some of the fun things that have taken place at Liberty Hall in-conjunction with our exhibit:
This week News 12 New Jersey came to do a segment on the exhibit. Click the link to see how awesome it turned out: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zOAGHePUxmU&feature=youtu.be
Kean University also created a promotional video for Toys Through Time. You can see it here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LQSRBip-y2I
We have also started decorating the 1st floor of the museum for Halloween as we have 2 Kean birthdays that fall in October that had Halloween themed birthday parties. The decorations and costumes on display are from the collection and date to the 1930s & 1940s.
And last but not least, we missed a family birthday and wedding anniversary this week. They’re okay with it though, they’re dead. We missed Christine Kean Griffin who was born on October 3, 1826. Happy Birthday Christine!!! Then her niece, Christine Kean married Emlen Roosevelt on October 4, 1880. Happy Anniversary to these two love birds! As you may remember, we mentioned this wedding in our Wedding Season blog post as it rained so much that they had to the wedding inside Liberty Hall.
That’s all we got for now. We promise we won’t be boring next week!
